About our Teacher

Rita Sundari
Rita has been practicing and has been devoted to the study and practice of yoga since 2001 and has been teaching since 2005. After 9 years owning a successful office support services company and prior to that, in a demanding administration position in the Health Care Field, she decided to she just would rather spend her life "doing yoga". She sold her business and registered for a 200 hour yoga teacher training program at Sir Wilfred Laurier University and under the guidance of Denise Davis-Gains, she began to delve deeper in to yogic studies.
She since has studied with many renowned Yoga Masters including Manju Jois and Dharma Mittra. On her journey, she was lead to study with Yogi Vishvketu ji of World Conscious Yoga in 2007 in Ottawa and later on went to India to study with Yogi Vishvketu ji and Chetana Panwar where she received her 500 hour Advance Yoga Teacher Training Certification at their Ashram, Anand Prakash Ashram in Rishikesh. Rita returns to Rishikesh and Haridwar, India regularly to study and now also leads retreats there. She is a visiting teacher at Sri Tripura Ashram in Haridwar, India under the guidanceSwami Amlanand ji when she is in India.
Rita founded and teaches classes and workshops at Rei of Light Yoga in Caledon, Ontario, Canada.
Rita is also a Reiki Master and Teacher providing Reiki Healing Sessions and teaching others to become practitioners so they can share the healing energy of Reiki.
Rita teaches yoga in a holistic manner and is sincere about yoga and its benefits and shares that with her students and all. A light-hearted and intuitive approach coupled with compassion plays a big role in her teachings.
